She was predeceased by: her parents, George Orwig and Rose Orwig (Daley); her husband Gene R. Schaaf; her brothers, George, Jr., Daryl, Verl and Daniel Orwig; and her granddaughter Mindy Michelle Schaaf.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Schaaf (Cindy) of Olive Branch, MS, Tim Schaaf (Connie) of Chagrin Falls, OH, Patti Mantey (Harry Hundley) of Newport News, VA and Kelly Traut (Tom) of Bakersfield, CA; her grandchildren, Jennifer Perry (Clay), Samantha Smith (Logan), Alison Lum (Michael), Joey Traut (Alyssa) and Brian Traut; her great grandchildren, Andrew, Allysa, Alex Perry, Amos, Levi Lum and Vera Smith; and her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Phelps. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
