He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Ray and Pauline LaVerne Purk (Thomas); his siblings, Barbara A. Purk and Richard Wayne Purk; and his former wife Joyce Purk.

He is survived by: his daughters, April Lantz (Scott) and Darla Keifer (Mason Randle); his stepsons, Alan Hillard (Roxanne), Nathan Hillard (Nellie), Neal Hillard (Pricilla) and Jacob Hillard (Cara); his grandchildren, Hillary Cowburn (Eddie), Ethan Keifer, Lexi Keifer, McKay Young, Trevor Hillard, Austin Hillard, Levi Hillard, Lindsey Hillard, Sydney Hillard, Haley Elliott, Mia Elliott, Henry Hillard, Jack Hillard and Leo Hillard; and his sister Betty L. Reames. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
