He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Virgil Egler II and Pearline Egler (Johnson); and his sister Donna Lynn Ratliff. He is survived by: his children, Andrew Egler of Bellefontaine and Katie Leib of Bellefontaine; and his siblings, Anna Kenerly (Dwight) of Springfield, Jeanette Sanders of Marysville, Cheryl Kinchen (Derrick) of Bellefontaine, Akima Long of Bellefontaine and Sean Henry Egler (Bethany) of Findlay, Ohio.
