He was predeceased by: his parents, Hally H. Simmons and Alice Celestine Simmons (Mann); his wife Helen Louise Simmons (Sloan); and his siblings, Nelson Simmons, Gerald Simmons and Ruth Simmons.
He is survived by: his sons, Larry Simmons of Bellefontaine and Bob Simmons of Rushsylvania; his grandchildren, Lisa Engle (Scott), Kari Blankenbeker (Andrew) and Matthew Simmons (Steph); his stepgrandson Christopher Engle; his great grandchildren, Jocelynn, Baileigh, McKinley, Piper and Charlee; and his sister W. Irene Garman of West Liberty.
