He was predeceased by: his father Richard L. Schilling; and his sister Beth Ann Schilling. He is survived by: his siblings, Rick Schilling of Lewistown, Brenda Baker (Jerry) of Maplewood and Jennie Schilling of Chamberlain; his daughter Tristian Schilling Burnett of South Carolina; his former wife Rebecca Allen Schilling of Southaven, Mississippi; his stepchildren, Weston Strickland (Elizabeth), Alyssa Ward (Cameron), Samuel Strickland (Jocelyn) and Victoria Strickland; his stepgrandsons, Braydon, Hudson, Lincoln and Luke; and his nieces and nephews, Angie Schilling Ambos, Traci Schilling O'Linn, Luke Baker and Adam Baker.
