He was predeceased by: his parents, William Earl and Olive Kennedy (Shape); his spouse Shirley Jane Kennedy (DeRossett); his children, Pam Wilson and Fred Justice; his grandson Alex Grooms; and his siblings, Dorothy Simpson, Maxine Simpson, Majorie Stevens, Robert E. Kennedy and John W. Kennedy.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Holycross (Ernie) of Kenton and John Kennedy (Christine) of Kenton. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
