He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Mattis and Marjorie J. Mattis (Earhart); and his sister Julianne Mattis. He is survived by: his daughters, Allison M. Bennett (Adam) and Rachel A. Heffner (Bud); his siblings, Kathy Mattis Stevens (Danny), Tom Mattis (Mary Ann) and Tim Mattis (Tammie); and his grandchildren, Claire Marie Bennett, Ava Grace Bennett, William Edward Heffner V and Owen Michael Heffner.
