He was predeceased by: his father Denver Paul Steele; and his close friend Georgetta Balderson-Ledbetter. He is survived by: his mother Edna E. McCort Steele; his brother James A. Steele, Sr. (Inez); his nephews, James Steele, Jr. (Jennifer) of Bellaire and Joseph Michael Steele (Heidi) of Bellaire; and his great-nieces, Olivia, Jackie and Lilly.
