She was predeceased by: her parents, Emory Perkins and Ouida Mae Perkins (Sims); her daughter Phyllis Francine Whitlow; and her siblings, Marian, Samuel Perkins and Emory Perkins Jr..

She is survived by: her husband Jonathan Whitlow; her children, Jacqueline Diane Sims (Frank), Bernard Blunt and Cedric Ramon Whitlow (Deanetta); her sisters, Norma Jean Foster and Rose Bush (James); her sister-in-law Lucille Perkins; and her parents-in-law, Alzenia Rice (Robert), Tommy Whitlow (Doris) and Virginia White (Charles). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
