He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Grover McKinley Poindexter; his brother James; his mother Lucille Poindexter; his children, Nicole, Drielle and Andre; his siblings, Grover, Larry, LuAnn, Loretta and Vince; and also Gail Blair. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
