He was predeceased by: his parents, Katie Eff and Jesse Eff; and his siblings, Jimmy, Tim and June Black.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his children, Charlene Patterson, Jeannate Thomas, Valencia Kimbrough, LaToya Eff and John Eff Jr.; his grandchildren, Michelle, Shante, Theresa, Danisha, Anthony, Alexzandra and DeAsia; his great grandchild Navi; and his siblings, Jesse Eff, Rose Clinton, Kenneth Eff and Juanita McGee. He is also survived by friends and coworkers.
