She was predeceased by: her mother Martha Dorsey Nelson; her husband Amos Harrison Banks, Sr. of Deeson, Mississippi.; her brothers, George Nelson and Buford Nelson; her sons, Amos and Oscar; and her grandchildren, Kianga (Kweli Hill), Amos Banks and Avery Richard Knight.
She is survived by: her daughters, Elsie Harriet and Sandra Jaribu Hill; her grandchildren, Tengemana Hazina (Marcus), Maisha Lin, Dean Curtis, Domingo Key, Scott Ramon Seguro, Candace, Jammal (Luvenia) and Quinton (Jennie); and her great grandchildren, Sanaa Noelle, Mia Elyse, Zuri Hope, Miyahn Elsie, ViShay Maisha, Vada Wamwene, Jabari Sebastian, Joseph, Grayson Drew, Elijah, Alani and Ezra. She is also survived by loving relatives and friends.
