He was predeceased by: his parents, Althea Beverly and Craig Beverly; his wife Gladys Bryant; and his daughter Charlene. He is survived by: his daughters, Beverly Dickerson (Kevin), Mildred Bryant-Thompson and Gloria Willis; his grandchildren, Tamara Bryant, Charles Payton, Michael Payton, John Willis, Caprice Willis, Crystal Shelton, Franky Tucker, Christopher Tucker, Angelita Tucker, Walter Payton, Lyric Payton, Dale Payton and Johnny Payton; and his sisters, Judy Cunningham and Margaret Beverly. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
