She was predeceased by: her father Bennie Martin Sr.; and her husband Vea Wilson. She is survived by: her son Demetrius Lee Atwater; her mother Carrie Martin; her sibling Bennie Martin, Jr.; her grandchildren, Andre Atwater, Devonte Atwater (DJ) and Tiana Atwater; and her sister-in-law Dinah Oliver.
