He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Wendel and Sarah Marie Wendel (Goegelein); his wife Doris Wendel (Fuller); his brother George Wendel; and his sons, Thomas Herman and Steven Jay Wendel.
He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Ann Hallsteine (Wendel) and Donald Wendel; and his grandchildren, Samantha Eden (Steven), Taylor Wendel, Daniel Wendel (Samantha), Steven Likens and Jay Wendel. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and a long list of extended family and lifelong friends.
