He was predeceased by: his parents, William Riley Culwell and Erma Mae Fannin Culwell; his former wife Gloria Jean Culwell; and his brothers, James Culwell, Norman Culwell and William Ray Culwell.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Sue Carman Culwell; his children, Elzie Culwell Jr. (Jessie) of Florida, Dennis Allen Culwell (Claudia) of Raceland, Tracy Scott Culwell of Huntington, Timothy Martin Culwell (Jennifer) of Oak Hill, Eric Quinn Culwell (Kimberly) of Jackson and Beth Cleveland (Kyle) of Madisonville; and his siblings, Ronald Culwell of Mt. Sterling, Ruby Bogenrife (Dale) of Washington, C. H., Opal Culwell of Arizona and Okie Dreher of Bainbridge. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
