He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Smith (Voelker) and Victor Smith; his spouse Ruie Smith (Caudill); his brothers, Paul Smith (Mud) and Robert Smith (Bob); and his daughter-in-law Lori Smith (Storer).

He is survived by: his sons, Terry Smith of Groveport and Tony Smith (Pam) of Beaver; his stepdaughter Pam Raymond (John) of Columbus; his grandchildren, Eric Smith (Marine) of New Jersey, Rachel Leach (Brian) of Beaver, Cody Smith (Alexis) of Latham and Stacy Ell (Alex) of Ashville; his great grandchildren, Dylan, Drew Morton, Jackson, Anderson Smith, Addy, Ezmae and Zoie Smith; his sister Helen Bennett (Smith); and his niece Vickie Mullins (Jake).

Following CDC guidelines, the family requests those attending visitation to please wear a mask while inside the facilities.
