He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Jeremiah Palmer and Violet Evelyn Simmons Palmer; and his brothers, Edwin Palmer and Robert "Bobby" Palmer. He is survived by: his wife Ann Marie Page Palmer; his daughters, Kathleen Pennington (Terry) of Beaver and Marjorie Lindsay (Brandon) of San Antonio, Texas; his grandchildren, Heather Pennington, Samantha Pennington, Zachriah Pennington (Mariah), Tyler Lindsay (Sloane) and Maysen "May" Lindsay; his great grandchildren, Westley Lindsay, Robin Lindsay, Gabrial Marcinko, Lillian Marcinko, Bradyn Riley, Carter Riley and Maverick Mosley; and his sister-in-law Sally Krager of Dowagiac, Michigan.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
