He was predeceased by: his sisters, Rajeswaramma (Mallikarijuna Rao) and Venkata Subbamma (Venkateswara Rao). He is survived by: his wife Dr. Bharati Rao; his sons, Dr. Ken (Sally Namboodiri) and Krishna; his grandchildren, Dr. Sanjay and Sam; and his siblings, Vijaya Lakshmi (Nageswara Rao), Kamala (Hanumayya) and Suryanarayana (Padma). He is also survived by uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
