It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Shlachter (Beachwood, Ohio), who passed away on March 24, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ruth Shlachter to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Harry L. Shlachter; her son Jay Shlachter; and her siblings, Hal Artz and Rosalyn Cohen. She is survived by: her sons, Marc (Kumiko), Robert (Mara) and Barry (late Amrita); her grandchildren, Kori (Keola Ford), Leah (Eric Donaldson), Joy, David (Orlee Rabin), Jeremy, Jenna (Tim Rechetniak) and Ethan; and her great grandchildren, Ka'ala, Sigal, Zev and Mili.

Due to the pandemic, family requests no visitation.

Friends who wish may contribute to the American Heart Association and the Jewish Federation of Cleveland.

“I knew Ruth and Harry because they were friends of my parents since school days. Later I dated Marc while we both were in college! He was a very unusual and interesting date with his love for Hawaii. On my 35 th birthday my husband and I visited Hawaii and spent a fun day with Marc , his wife and Bruce and Linda Mittleman.I knew my husband and Marc would enjoy meeting each other and share the fun of water activities in Hawaii.I last saw Harry and Ruth when my dad and Harry were both hospitalized”
