He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal Payne and Essie Payne (Cromer); his former wife Patricia Payne (Henderson); and his siblings, Earl Payne, Wayne Payne and Betty Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Carole Payne; his children, Debbie Davis (Missy) of Cincinnati, Ohio, David Payne (Cathy) of Tennessee and Jamey Payne (Sharree) of Strunk, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Aaron Davis (Amy), Andrew Payne (Britni), Daniel Payne (Nicole), Elizabeth Thomas (Myles), Ashley Bruck (Korey), David Payne (Britany), Lauren Davis, Paige Payne (Courtney), Rachel Payne (Cassandra), Dylan Payne and RayLynn Payne. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and a few nephews.
