He was predeceased by: his former wife Jean A. Carter-Sturgeon; and his parents, Ruby J. Chapman and John R. Sturgeon. He is survived by: his wife Esther L. Sturgeon; his children, Rick L Sturgeon (Erin), Teresa A. Collins, George L. Sturgeon Jr. (Melanie) and Kenneth J. Sturgeon (Kelly); and his sister Jacqueline Chapman-Borgia (Frank). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
