He was predeceased by: his father Carl Farner; his friend George Nier; and his brother Randall Farner. He is survived by: his sister-in-law Donna Farner of Sterling; his nieces, Michelle Morrow (Jason) of Sterling and Sonja Wright (Brad) of Lodi; his nephew Charles Farner (Tyler) of Wooster; and his pet Toby.
