He was predeceased by: his father James Gerald Murray; his great-grandparent Mary Hogue; his grandparents, Laura Blair and James C. Murrey; his great-grandparents, David Blair and James L. Murrey; and his parent Leown Murray of Portage Lakes.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy K. Murray; his children, Sherri Murray, Christopher Murray (Jennifer), Donald Murray and Lisa Griffith (Cliff); his grandchildren, Brandon, Austin and Alea; and his sister Marianne. He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews; many cousins, and close family friends.
The Ohio Senate and House of Representatives also recognized him for his contributions to excellence in teaching and education.
