It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith F (G. G.) Greathouse of Barberton, Ohio, who passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dempsey Bell and Millard Edman; her husband Arthur L. Greathouse; her daughter Chris Kohawowicz (Snyder); and her granddaughter Elizabeth Snyder.

She is survived by: her children, Becky Conway (Jack), Mark Snyder (Marie), Kim Mosyjowski (Joe), Matt Snyder (Paula), Jenny Spencer (Bob) and Rich Kohawowicz (late Chris Kohawowicz); her stepson Larry Greathouse; her grandchildren, Amanda, David, Brandon, Venus, Ryanne, Wendy, Erika, Nik, Joan, Corey, Ryan, Kylie, Nicole, Jessica and Richie; and her great grandchildren, Patience, Parker, Phoenix, Natalie, Stephen, Owen, Lucas, Christian, Penelope, Daxton, Kacen, Avery, Emberly, Addalyn and Beckett.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.

“Edith was a fine lady and best friend to my mother Phyllis. Mom told me someone said Edith and her were the most respected people in her apartment building. What an honor. Mom so enjoyed her time with Edith and I did, too. Playing bananagrams with her and knowing she held back a play just so others had a chance. Loved her recipe for Lemon Yogurt Pie. Edith had a kind and gentle character and was so calm and strong when facing yet another of life's trials. May she rest in peace. Loved by all.”
