It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Jean Newton of Avon Lake, Ohio, born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, who passed away on July 11, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Carlton Newton; her parents, Ida Ambrus and George Ambrus; her siblings, George, Edwin and Cornilia; and her granddaughter Jacqueliine McLaughlin.
She is survived by: her children, Dennis Newton (Jean) of Brookville, PA, Denise Brisbine (Don) of North Ridgeville, Diane Burkhard of Avon Lake and Devis Leopold (Tom) of LaGrange; her grandchildren, John Slater (Lisa) of Columbia Station, Amy Cashdollar (Richie) of Cranberry, PA, Anne Timms of Lake Wales, FL, Jessica Hartly of Lorain, Kristie Jochmann (Martin) and Josh Burkhard (Rica) of Dayton; her great grandchildren, Luke Cashdollar, Daniel Cashdollar, Kemarah Hartley, Sienna Hartley, AJ Legard, Michael Timms, Lilian, Gus Jochmann and Nate McLaughlin; and her siblings, Ted Ambrus and Aurora Justine of Fullerton, CA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
