With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth H. Higgins (Avon Lake, Ohio), who passed away on June 2, 2021 at the age of 99. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ruth H. Higgins to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband William F. Higgins; her parents, Emma Nixon and Elmer Nixon; her siblings, Betty, Martha and Frank; her son-in-law Larry Forbes; and her granddaughter-in-law Naomi Hendershot.

She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Updegraff (David), Candace Hendershot (Jack), Claudia Forbes (Larry) and William; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Updegraff (Derek Sovchik), Keith Updegraff (Karin), Katie Lopez (Louis), Mike Hendershot (Abby), Andy Hendershot (Cadi), Jason Forbes (Myrna), Chad Forbes (Melissa) and Ashley Forbes (Owen Paradis).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be forwarded to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church's Memorial Fund 32747 Lake Road, Avon Lake, Ohio 44012.

“I am not very good at technical stuff..I did leave message on one site..My family has been neighbor of Ruth & Bill for over 30 years.We have been so blessed as they both are so sharing of many things their yard,their veggies & fruits & so many little helpful things over years...they loved when our family had gatherings outside so they could also enjoy..we had many short visits,Ruth shared baked goods & so much more. We miss both of them tremendously...Phyllis Clark & family”
