He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Byrne and Marilyn Byrne; and his brother Thomas Byrne. He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Matthew Byrne (Erin) and Colleen Beyer (Matthew); his grandchildren, Kiera, Reilly, Colin, Jack and Georgia; and his brother Dennis Byrne (Susan).
