With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leland John Schmidt of Avon Lake, Ohio, born in Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on April 4, 2024 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Schmidt and Rose Schmidt; his daughter Rebecca Schmidt; and his brother Frederick Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Schmidt; his children, Matthew Schmidt (Melissa) and Amanda Hoban (Edward); his grandchildren, Garren Schmidt, Braeden Hoban and Connor Hoban; and his sister-in-law Constance Carver (late James).
