He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kavalac and Anne Kavalac; and his brother John Gerald Kavalac. He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Kavalac; his daughter Rebecca Canterbury of Westerville; and his granddaughter Leah Canterbury. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
