It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carl Peter Hartman Sr. of Avon Lake, Ohio, who passed away on March 3, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margaret Hartman and Peter Hartman; his wife Nancy; his children, Sue, Carl, Chris, Kate, Joel and Mike; and his siblings, Lois and Ken. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews.

“I just happened across Coach Hartman’s obituary. Carl Hartman was a very-very special person in the lives of my brother Phil and myself. To Phil, who sadly passed away 5 years ago, he was Phil’s favorite coach. Phil graduated in ‘71 while I was ‘69. Although I was never coached by him, I was Coach Hartman’s Gym Aide, helped him coach the frosh team and played a lot of 1 on 1 with him. Phil and I stayed close to him for many years but lost saw him in 2010 at LSHOF Banquet. God bless his memory!”
