He was predeceased by: his wife Arlene. He is survived by: his son Attorney Damian Billak; his siblings, Andrea Rossi (Sam) and Dr. James Billak (Karyn Kosek-Rovder); and his grandchildren, Jake, Max, Riley and Lily.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Richard J. Billak, Ph.D. Scholarship in Criminal Justice Foundation at Youngstown State University.
