He was predeceased by : his parents, Harold T. Ray and Dorothy Hunt Ray. He is survived by : his wife Judy Elmes Ray; his son J. R. Ray Jr. (Verna); his grandsons, John Ray III (Rachael) and Michael Ray (Kate); and his great grandchildren, Rae Lynn, John Ray IV and Colt.
