He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Haydu, Sr. and Ethel Pogany Haydu; and his brother William J. Haydu. He is survived by: his wife Joyce D. Forney Haydu; his daughter Karen Beil (Chris) of New Springfield; his grandchildren, Aaron Miller (Stephanie) and Tara Nguyen (Danny); his great grandchildren, Grayson, Gavin Miller, Haley Buss, Benjamin and Breanna Triola; his daughter Nancy Mashiska of Austintown; his grandsons, Vincent Conglose (Elizabeth) and Dominic Mashiska; his great grandchildren, Vinny and Bella Conglose; his son Robert Haydu (Vicki Cupan) of Girard; his grandchildren, Nicholas Haydu and Taylor Buser (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Kaden, Kinsley and Kameron Buser.
