He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Pupino and Viola Pupino (Tocco); his siblings, Carmel Ann LaMarco and Robert Pupino; and his brother-in-law Ralph LaMarco.

He is survived by: his wife Sophie Tomaskovic; his children, Susanne Kaczowka (Gary), James Pupino Jr. (Adria) and Michael Pupino; his brother Nicholas Pupino Jr. (Marie); his sister-in-law Isabel Pupino; and his grandchildren, Angela Kaczowka (Tony), James V. Pupino III and Emily Pupino.

Memorial contributions may be made in James memory to the National Kidney Foundation or to Hospice House.

Not only being related but having worked with him at John Hancock I always felt a special bond with him. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed help and never spoke bad of anyone.
