He is survived by: his wife Dianne Yurak; his children, Christine Stacy (Bryan) of Mineral Ridge, Brent Bitner (Phyllis) of Warren, Deana Dunham (Josh) of Jacksonville, Alexis White (Aaron) of Austintown and Justin Bitner (Jaqueline) of Warren; his brother Paul Bitner (Bonnie) of Mineral Ridge; and his grandchildren, Jennie, Brenna, Mason, Avery, Reese Bitner, Joplin Taska, Zack Stacy, Audrey Dunham, Reagan and Grant White.

The family has requested that material tributes take the form of donations to Southern Care Hospice.
