He is survived by: his wife Jennifer; his children, Nicholas Smirz (Courtney) of Brookpark, Theresa Smirz of Avon and Noah Smirz of Avon; his stepchildren, Daniel, Charles and Anna Burgess of Austintown; his grandson Lawrence; his parents, Dale Smirz and Barbara Smirz of North Ridgeville; and his siblings, Cheryl Horency (Joseph), Scott Smirz (Laura) and Carole Amburgey (Blain). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
