He was predeceased by: his parents, Vinton Ashburn and Christine Ashburn (Neal); his siblings, Wallace Ashburn, Ronald Ashburn and Verna Feller; his brothers-in-law, Marvin Feller, Arnold Jasicki, Ralph Moline and Gary Harguth; his parents-in-law, George and Alyce Arends; and his grandson Nathaniel Ashburn-Genszler.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Ashburn (Arends); his daughter Alycia Ashburn; his son-in-law Andrew Genszler; his grandchildren, Brooke and William Ashburn-Genszler; his siblings, Audrey Jasicki, Joyce Moline, Larry (Joan Ashburn), Carol (Joe Simmonds), James (Twyla Ashburn), Elaine Harguth and Dennis (Elaine Ashburn); and his sisters-in-law, Muriel Ashburn and Lucy Ashburn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
During his last week of life, Royal suffered greatly as COVID wreaked havoc on his lungs and body.
