He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Dempsey and Ida Dempsey; and his siblings, Marjorie, Eileen and David.
He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn; his stepchildren, Jeffrey (Jayne), Beth Anne Martin (Gregg) and Christopher Bull; his children, Barbara Ann Murnane (Frank), Patrick Dempsey (Nancy) and Todd Dempsey; his sisters, Grace Patrick and Deborah Edgar (Robert); and his grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Ally, Tyler Martin, Connor Bull, Sean Murnane and Matthew Dempsey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
