He was predeceased by: his wife Renee; and his sister Emily Barton. He is survived by: the fathers of children, Tim (Beth), Michael (late Tracey) and Christopher; his sibling Stephany Drabik; his grandchildren, Matthew O'Day (Sara Sieteski), Kelly Thayer (Charlie), Casey O'Day and Daniel O'Day; his great grandchildren, Jack Thayer and Elizabeth Thayer; and his friend Carol Madsen.
