James P. Jimison Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James P. Jimison (Auburn Township, Ohio), who passed away on February 21, 2018, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James P. Jimison to pay them a last tribute.
The Chief" James Phillip Jimison, of Auburn Township, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 just after midnight in his home. He is survived by the love of his life of 50 years Donna (nee Budinsky) and their 4 children, Dawn Pelter, Mark, Pamela (Chris) Crowley and Erin (Scott) Ballantyne. He leaves behind 5 wonderful grandchildren: JohnHenry James "Hank", Maggie, Ethan, JD and Landyn.
Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his brothers, Keith and Wes "Dee". He was predeceased by his mother Virginia (nee Dority) and father Keith, as well as his sister, Linda. Jim proudly served his country for 3 ½ years in the U.S. Army and proceeded to spend the next 47 years of his life in public service doing what he loved, protecting and serving the people.
Of those years, 36 of them were spent serving the amazing Township of Bainbridge as Police Chief. His dedication to the people was only part of his passion; his true passion was his family and love of animals of all kinds. God gained a very unique soul, Jim, who had an exceptional sense of humor, was an avid golfer and took it upon himself to be Panera's best personal greeter.
He will be greatly missed. Friends received at the ST. JOHN FUNERAL HOME, 16381 CHILLICOTHE RD. (RT. 306), CHAGRIN FALLS, 44023 (2.5 MILES NORTH OF RT. 422), SATURDAY 2 – 4 P.M. AND SUNDAY 2 – 6 P.M. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 26th at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Bible Church in Chagrin Falls. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Geauga County Blue Coats, Inc. or the Geauga Humane Society's Rescue Village.
