He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Schaaf and Mary Schaaf (Wilford). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Behm; his children, Theresa M. Schaaf and Eric R. Schaaf (Karen) of Dublin; his grandchildren, Samantha E. of Dublin and Adam W. Schaaf of Dublin; and his brothers, James Schaaf (Judy) of Attica and Thomas Schaaf (Sue) of Bluffton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Seneca East Public Library in Attica, or to Ohio Health Hospice Kobacker House in Columbus.
