He was predeceased by: his father Charles Bryan; his son Richard Kochel Jr.; his son-in-law Rocky Martin; and his siblings, Charles, Harold Kochel, Hilda Seagram and Joyce Yacob.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Kochel (Marquart) of Attica; and his children, Becky Kochel of Attica, Kenny Kochel (Nancy) of Attica, Dennis Kochel (Julie) of New Washington, Peggy Martin of Attica, Millie Lucius of Attica, Bryan Kochel of Attica and Ben Kochel of Attica. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren.
