Thomas Marx Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Marx of Athens, Ohio, born in Toledo, Ohio, who passed away on September 22, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Marx and Anne Walter Marx; and his siblings, Patricia Bacon and Richard Marx. He is survived by: his wife Paula Noftz Marx; his daughter Lindsey; his son-in-law Matthew Ward of Athens; his granddaughters, Madison and Gabby Ward; his stepgranddaughter Parker Ward of Los Angeles, CA; his sister Carol Tiller of Toledo; and his siblings-in-law, Susan Birch (George Birch) of Frederick, MD, Bonnie Marx of Piqua and Ed Bacon of Bryan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church (2 S College St, Athens, OH 45701). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged in Tom's honor to the Athens County Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, or the Athens First United Methodist Church's Monday Lunch Program.
