He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sickels and Hildred Clark Sickels Gwinn; his stepfather Buddy Gwinn; his sister Penny Sickels; his parents-in-law, Tom and Irene Adkins; his siblings-in-law, Tommy Adkins Jr., Blaine Sharpe, Donna Adkins Bryan and Vicky Adkins; and his grandparents, Linton, Irene Sickels, Herbert and Edith Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Sickels (Adkins); his sisters, Kathy Nicholson of Tucson, AZ, Becky Stover (Bill) of Coolville, Teresa Harris (Greg) of Athens and Connie Whaley (Paul) of Shade; his stepbrothers, Keith Gwinn (Leslie) of Athens and Kevin Gwinn (Marcia) of Athens; his stepmother Alma Sickels of Athens; his stepsiblings, Cindy Sharpe of Athens, Mindy King (Rodney) of Athens and J. R. Coon of Athens; and his siblings-in-law, Charlie Adkins of Athens and Joyice Adkins Childs (Al) of Athens. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
