It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Matt Hackney of Ashville, Ohio, born in Columbus, Ohio, who passed away on August 21, 2024, at the age of 51, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Rita Mae Hackney; and his father-in-law William Douglas Young. He is survived by: his wife Susan R. Hackney (Fitchpatrick); his children, Nick Hackney (Rachael), Kaitlin Howell (Ken), Michael Hackney, Jacob Pope (Kelsi) and Kolten Johnson; his father-in-law Buddy Fitchpatrick; his aunts, Connie and Jenny; his cousin Penny; and also, Cora, Lily Howell, Paislee and Colt Pope.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home (420 W Main St, Ashville, OH 43103). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may go to a charity of choice.
