He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn McCarty and Ellen Reed McCarty. He is survived by: his wife Wilma Ratliff McCarty; his children, Charles Samuel McCarty of Ashville, Ohio, Sandra Carol Schlegler of Stoutsville and Patricia Sue Spaulding of Lancaster, Ohio; and his sister Ann Gilbert of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
