He is survived by: his caregiver Sue Brady; his children, Richard Smegal Jr. of Fort Myers, FL, Tammy Saunders (William Jr) and Jeannette Smegal (Michael Hochschild); his brother Russell Smegal; his great grandchildren, Kenneth Marsh and Vance Freeman; and his faithful Jack Russell. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.
