Norma left this world on September 1, 2024 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Bobbie Whitley, Cornelia Jackson and Charles Dukes III. She is survived by: her husband Aaron Cockrell; her sons, Herbert Waugh (Lori) and Robert Waugh (Donya); her sister Nichole Sims; her brother-in-law Joe Jackson; her grandsons, Brandon Waugh, Brevin Waugh, Robbie Waugh, Dylon Waugh and Davenport Waugh; her niece Rhonda Hooks; her nephews, Richard Hooks, Justin Hooks, Jerome Hooks and Erick Scott; and her friend Janice Hayes. She is also survived by friends which includes cousins, and a host of other family members.

“Our heartfelt condolences to Herbert & Lori, Robert & Donya, and her grandsons Brandon, Brevin, Robbie, Dylon, and Davenport. Norma agreed to care for Jacob in 1990 and became his 2nd mom. She was rational when I was emotional; she was incredibly kind, caring, & thoughtful. We are so grateful that she was a part of our lives. Norma was so proud of Herbert & Robert and her support of them from their teen years to adulthood provided additional guidance for me over 18 years. Hilary, Peter, and Jacob”
