She was predeceased by: her parents, Monroe Knerr and Helen Knerr (Rex); her husband John Nelson; her brothers, Monroe and Rex Knerr; and her grandchildren, William Nelson and Nicole Schupska.

She is survived by: her children, Wendy Kortyka (Mike) of North Kingsville, OH, Paul Nelson (Belinda) of Warren, OH, James Nelson (Virginia) of Alexandria, VA, Janna Nelson of Port St and Monroe Nelson (Allison Burke) of Delaware, OH; and her friend Ernestine Rossette. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.
